About Jake Stowers

Dad. Husband. Home DIY'er. Backpacker. Enjoyer Of Travel. Concert Goer. All Around Eclectic Enthusiast.

I'm from the beautiful state of Virginia, and I live in it's capital city, Richmond. Or as the locals call it, RVA. If you're not familiar with Virginia, towards the Western part we have mountains, where I learned to hike and snowboard. To the East we have beaches, where I visit every summer for vacation. And to the North we have Washington D.C., where I used to live.

I'm getting ahead of myself though!  First off, I'm from RVA. That's where I graduated high school during which I did a couple years of JROTC and played football during my junior year. After high school I graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelors in marketing which was a pivotal experience, especially because it's where my wife (Tori) and I met, but it was also in a small college town. So of course from there Tori and I moved out to the city in D.C. for four years which was a blast.  We ended up getting a dog, Libbie, and decided that there just wasn't enough open space in D.C. for us to give Libbie the life of frolicking she deserved.

Naturally, we moved back to our hometown of Richmond, where we bought a fixer-upper home.  I've since done just about every type of work on my house from building all cabinetry, electric and plumbing, install a fence/deck/patio, to even helping build a second story addition!  I love exploring other cities but given the literal blood, sweat, and tears I've put into this home and with our families so close by, I'm not sure we'll ever move since making this our dream home.

And that's fine with our two daughters as well, who love growing up in Richmond considering everything there is to do! We're a 5 minute car ride to the James River which is where we'll spend time in the water during the weekends if we're not at a nearby quarry or pool, or hiking a trail, walking into the city, or just spending time with our family. And if that's not enough, well, there's plenty to do just a short drive away somewhere in Virginia!

Think we could be a fit?
