Ferret herding? What's that about??

You may have heard the term "herding cats."  This refers to the act of getting the right people in the right place but due to their own zones of genius, you may find that they quickly disperse onto their own paths while you're actively trying to unite the group.

Got it. But why ferrets?

Well for one, cats are (for the most part) a more docile creature when left to wonder on their own. So when placing them in a room, the degradation in group structure can be somewhat easily anticipated in order to act before it's too late. I'm not sure about you, but I for one have worked with individuals much more elusive than can be compared to a feline, thus learning more towards the energy level of a ferret. Yet, in my career I've been successful at building the right team, keeping all necessary parties present, engaged, and focused on the mission, until the job is complete.

But you said literally. You've literally herded ferrets?

Yes.  I've had the pleasure of not only herding ferrets figuratively (looking at you, creative team) but once upon a time I've also owned a ferret. Ok, I might have had more than one.  I've owned two ferrets. Ok fine, I had three ferrets at one time in my life. You know how it goes, you get one, then you want them to have a partner in crime, so you get two. Then, you find one in a pet store who has special needs and requires a loving home, only to one day realize you're that person who has three ferrets yet you've developed the skill to supervise and thrive with all three of them at the same time!
